Controlling the heat pump based on hourly electricity prices is crucial, as heat pumps typically account for 50–80% of a household's annual electricity consumption. Smart control of the heat pump can significantly reduce electricity costs.
The HeatAdapt smart module operates by considering the hourly electricity price, grid fees, and weather forecasts. It selects the most efficient heating and hot water production patterns based on the day’s hourly prices. This ensures the heat pump’s consumption is scheduled during more favourable hours, minimising the impact of peak prices.
